The University of Minnesota Center for Public Health Preparedness is designed to train state and local public health workers and others to prepare for and respond to terrorism incidents, infectious disease outbreaks and emergent public health threats. CPHP collaborates with state and local departments of health to create a strong public health workforce and has a primary service area of Minnesota, North Dakota and Wisconsin. The Center, established in 2002, is a member of the national network of public health preparedness training centers and is funded in part by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

  • Food safety
  • Assessment of learning needs and evaluation methods
  • Environmental health capacity building
  • Rural and agroterrorism preparedness
  • Digital learning and gaming simulation
  • Cross border preparedness
