Individual Projects

U-SEEE: Retrospective Cohort Study of Responders Training and System Performance

Hedberg, C, Bender, J, DeBoer, J, Leitheiser, A, and Bohan, P
This project is developing a retrospective cohort approach to evaluating the contributions of a responder¿s training history to their performance in responding to an actual event. This approach should be a powerful tool to link specific training modalities to functional competence.

U-SEEE: Effectiveness of Simulated Disaster Response Scenarios

Miller, J, McClure, E, Halaas, G
This project is assessing the effectiveness of live public health preparedness and response simulations at improving interprofessional health science student teams¿ individual and system readiness under response conditions. The long-term goal is to improve disaster preparedness of health professionals and thereby improve the timeliness and quality of disaster response.

U-SEEE: Creating High Reliability Teams for Public Health Preparedness

Riley, WJ
This project is examining the predictors and determinants of high reliability teams in emergency preparedness by studying the effects of controller-led in situ simulation training on team function, dynamics and communications among staff responsible for public health emergency operations and coordination at a state health department.

U-SEEE: Using Collaborative Virtual Environments in Preparedness and Emergency Response Planning (formerly PERUSE)

Monahan, C, Harvey, K, Jones, S
This project is examining the issues in using a computer-generated virtual environment (in this case Second Life) to support a collaborative disaster response planning process.
