The Centers for Public Health Education and Outreach (CPHEO) promotes lifelong learning to bridge academic and public health practice communities and provides national leadership in developing educational programs and online courses and managing training outreach.

Workforce Development

CPHEO provides services for a number of grants that are managed internally, collaboratively, or by other departments and organizations. Grants include:

• University of Minnesota Center for Public Health Preparedness (UMNCPHP)
• Midwest Center for Life-Long-Learning in Public Health (MCLPH)
• Midwest Center for Occupational Health and Safety (MCOHS)
• Minnesota Emergency Readiness Education and Training (MERET)
• Midwest Consortium for Hazardous Waste Worker Training (NIEHS)

CPHEO also runs a number of programs, including the Public Health Institute, School of Public Health Roundtable Series, and other events and programs.

Webcasts & Online Trainings

CPHEO maintains a growing repository of online trainings and modules, as well as an archive of webcasts.

CPHEO is also a resource for the online public health game "Watersedge," video that streams simultaneously with events like Emergency Readiness Rounds, and pursues new educational technologies to provide better learning opportunities to public health professionals.

Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL)

The Digital Learning Group provides solutions in the ever-evolving world of Technologically Enhanced Learning (TEL). Services include Data-Driven Web Solutions, Video · Audio · Photo, Instructional Design, Course Development, and Online Conferencing services.
