This seminar provides an overview of personal and family emergency preparedness within historical and current contexts. It is also an opportunity to learn the importance of personal and family emergency preparedness and the steps to becoming personally prepared.

Learning Objectives

  • Review personal and family emergency preparedness within current and historical contexts.
  • Understand the importance of personal and family emergency preparedness and the impact of personal preparedness on the larger community.
  • Identify the steps to becoming personally prepared.

Accreditation

.15 CEUs will be given; designed to meet the requirements of the Minnesota Board of Nursing for 1.5 contact hours.

Featured Speaker

Elizabeth McClure, MD, MPH, is the Medical Director for the Academic Health Center Office of Emergency Response at the University of Minnesota. She received her medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine, Seattle, and her Master¿s of Public Health in public health practice from the University of Minnesota. Dr. McClure¿s areas of interest include influenza vaccination, pandemic influenza planning, public health emergency preparedness and policy development.
