This seminar provides a definition of special populations and an overview of key issues related to special populations in public health emergencies. In addition, speakers address gaps, challenges, and strategies in emergency preparedness planning for special populations. Community-level speakers share examples from their on-the-ground experience.

As a result of this training, you can learn to:

  1. Identify special populations and their needs in emergency preparedness.
  2. Learn approaches to include community groups and their concerns in planning.
  3. Understand gaps and barriers to planning for special populations.

Accreditation

.1 CEU will be given; Designed to meet the requirements of the Minnesota Board of Nursing for 1.8 contact hours.
