This seminar is an overview of activation and coordination of local resources with regional, state, and federal resources.

Daniel O'Laughlin MD, is a full time emergency physician and Medical Director for Emergency Preparedness at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. He is also an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine with the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Minnesota Medical School. His academic focus has been on medical education at multiple levels and emergency preparedness and response. Since 2003, Dr. O’Laughlin has served as the Vice-Chairperson of the Metropolitan Hospital Compact Group, which coordinates the regional disaster response of 29 hospitals in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area.
